    • Hello Valery, It has been more than a year since your posting to the Goff Family site, so you may have solved your mystery. I too am searching for NY Goffs: the parents of Sophia Catherine Goff who was born 1819 in Orange, Monroe County, NY and died NYC 1889. She married Silas Witherbee in 1842. Since Sarah's and Sophia's birth years are similar, they could be siblings or cousins (or not related at all). If you have any information on Goff's in Orange or Monroe County, I would appreciate it. If I encounter Sarah in my searches, I will let you know. Best, Kate
    • We meet again. I have dna posts in another Forum"Goff DNA Project Discussions". When I key "Goff" on FF, I have 11 matches, which includes you. When I key "Williams" I have 170 matchs and you show up on page 2, as a match. If you think this is clutter, let me know and I will remove it from your post. Bill Goff
    • Hello. I am currently researching my Goff roots which have been in White county, TN since the early 1800s. After a ton of paper trail research and DNA research believe I am apart of the New Kent, VA Goff family group.   I also believe my Goff line is, somehow, related through Isham Goff (1811-1875) b. SC d. AR and/or Ambrose Goff (1766-1854) b. Bedford, VA d. TN   Are there any members in this group that are related to either of these lines? Would anyone happen to have any gedmatch kit numbers I could compare to my list of Goff cousins? Or has anyone done testing through ancestry that have public trees I could research? Or is anyone who is a descendant has done YDNA testing? I would love to exchange information.   My Goff line, I believe, is through a female Goff who passed the Goff name down to her sons.   Feel free to send me an email at mwilliams2113@gmail.com or comment here. I am hoping with some help I can break through this brick wall of mine.   Thank you in advance! I appreciate your help.
    • I am trying to locate the parents of Sarah A Goff who was born in 1818 in Seneca county NY. She married Charles Pleasants in Waterloo in 1840 and left the county sometime in the early 1850's. There are a number of Goff families in the area during this time period but I can not find a match.
  • A Note About Logins and Passwords

While we have many new features to offer GGFA members, the applications we are using (given our limited budget) each require their own login (user name and password).   The first time a Member uses this site (GGFA Community) or GGFA Genealogy (family trees) you will need to make sure that you are registered.  You can use the same password for both (and also the main GGFA web site).  You will not be able to access all the features of the sites until you complete this process.
